Loyalty is Dead – Meeting the poet, Inufin Ayomide

From a banker in the day and unleashing his mighty prowess in poetry when the inspiration comes, Inufin Ayomide is a great delight and wizard of the pen painting provocate pictures with literary words that would keep his reader visualizing their thoughts and even yearning for more reads. His recent work, Loyalty is Dead keeps garnering interesting opinions and critics from readers across social media platforms till the time of this interview.

WHO IS INUFIN AYOMIDE ?

I am Inufin Ayomide (Ayomide d’great), some people call me InuAyo d’great, I was born into the family of Inufin in the early 90s, I am the third child of my parents out of four children. I hail from Kogi state, but born and bred in Ibadan. I’m a graduate of the University of Ibadan, I studied Library and information science, I presently work with First City Monument Bank (FCMB), I am into poetry, creative writing, script writing,  music lyrics writing, partially into music, but basically into poetry.
LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT BEING A POET, HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE ONE?

Well, I feel great and alive, it gives me delight and immense pleasure, I feel whenever I pen down my thoughts, I speak to humanity, I realize reality, I blow the wind of entertainment in poetry. Being a poet is like being a human being living a fulfilled life.

WHAT ARE YOUR WORKS IDENTIFYING WITH IN THE SOCIETY?

I have written nine poetry collections, I’m presently working on my tenth and eleventh collections respectively. In identification with the society, my works capture the essence of real life situations, the way they happen, morals, sociology, norms and trends. My works attempt to shape, explore and inform the society on real life happenings as well as how people can relate to them.

YOUR MOST RECENT WORK, LOYALTY IS DEAD IDENTIFIES A WOMAN WHO BROKE THE WRITER’S LOYALTY, WORDS ON THE STREETS SAYS THE WORK IS ABOUT YOUR PERSON, HOW TRUE?

Truth be told, it has nothing to do with me. I am a writer and when the inspiration comes, I write in that direction. Yes, there are controversies that I wrote about my lover who I am in a distant relationship with. Honestly, it doesn’t have anything to do with such. I just write about reality just the way people watch Hollywood and it looks real to them, as a matter of fact, I write reality in other for dreamers to wake up and realize their dreams.

WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND LOYALTY IS DEAD?

Several cases of heartbreak  have been recorded over time according to my research, especially among middle aged youths and majority of this effect is as a result of unfaithfulness, no love from the onset, true lust etc. I only employed the theme of Distant Relationship because, it is rampant in such love affair, but in general, the work talks about the dead loyalty which is common in the western love relationship.

JUDGING FROM YOUR WORK, DON’T YOU THINK A MAN HAS NO BUSINESS IN LOVE IF HE IS BROKE?

Like I always say, Money is not everything, there are more to offer in a love affair than money, any relationship grounded in money will definitely end up in the ground when there’s no more money to keep the ground.

A PART OF YOUR POEM AGREES LOYALTY CAN BE BOUGHT, HOW WOULD YOU ARGUE AGAINST THIS?

It actually can if there is genuine sincerity from day one, if there’s True love, those are the  things that buys loyalty.

HAVE YOU ENCOUNTERED AN HEARTBREAK ?

Just break up no heart break really, because sometimes, I see it coming *smiles*.
SAY A FEW WORDS TO BROKE BOYS IN SEARCH OF TRUE LOVE.

Alright, guys, keep your hustles tight, the dreams and hope alive, never relent in searching for a true loyal girl, this time is time to decipher True love because when you make it, it will be difficult to identify one. See you guys at the top.

WHAT ARE THE MOST SIGNIFICANT LESSONS YOU REALLY WANT PEOPLE TO TAKE HOME FROM LOYALTY IS DEAD?

Loyalty is paramount in a relationship, a relationship without loyalty is like a Titanic heading to rest at the bottom of the Atlantic.
FROM THE LINES “ONCE THE SUN DON’T SHINE AND THE RAIN DON’T FALL, SHE WILL BE LEAVING BEFORE THE END OF THE SEASON”, DO WE CONCLUDE A LADY’S CLAIM OF LOVE IS MONEY DEFINED?

To some extent, ladies of nowadays are money driven than goals in a relationship, majority are all about the money and that is the reason why the line went that way.

WHERE CAN WE CHECK OUT YOUR WORKS ?

I am planning to launch a blog where my works can be widely seen, but I have a few bloggers and lovers posting and sharing my works on their platforms.

WE WOULD LOOK OUT FOR YOUR BLOG AND KEEP READERS UPDATED.

NYSC speaks on Kano Corper’s Death

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has cleared the air over the controversial death of a first class graduate of Transport Management, Ifedolapo Oladepo, at Kano Orientation Camp.

Kano NYSC coordinator, Abdullahi Baba, in a chat with Vanguard on Friday, said that the graduate from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in Osogbo died in a Government hospital and not inside the camp.

He, however, distanced the Camp management from the Ifedolapo’s death as earlier reported that she was allegedly forced to go for the early morning drills, thinking she was pretending.

“We have nothing to do with her death, the records and the file are there, the Doctors that treated her at the camp are there likewise those that treated her in her at the Government hospital.

“Anything outside this account is falsehood and people are free to hold opinion whether positive or negative but the beautiful things are that the records there for anyone to access. Her case was handled by professional and I believe they know better,”the coordinator added.

She narrated: “It felt like yesterday when all I always looked forward towards the long sessional holiday. This is just so I could come home and make money for the next session. I had to find ways to make money because there was little my mum could do to meet all the expenses for me and my sister.

Some people laughed at me, some encouraged me while some invested their money in my business.I sold noodles and egg, and from the little I made, I made sure I saved something every day.

At the end of the three months break, I had enough money to pay my sister,my school fees and my house rent as well as enough money to last me a whole semester. ”

she added that:

By the grace of God, I have completed my degree with a second class upper in Accounting from University of Ilorin while  my sister awaits admission into the same university too at the moment.

Looking back now, it’s my success story because with that kind of hustle, nobody had to run helter skelter to look for money to cater for those expenses.

Just right there, mama’s smile revealed her pride in me.” she concluded.

Man Beats Wife to Stupor for Investing Family Savings on MMM

A housewife, identified as Mrs. Ogenyi has been beaten to stupor by her angry husband for investing the family’s saving in Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, otherwise known as MMM

The problem ensued between the couple, who resides on Balogun Street, Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos Sunday afternoon, after the husband returned from a trip to his hometown in Benue and discovered that the family saving box was missing

On inquiry from his son, Oche, the father was informed that the mother went out with her friend around 4pm and had not returned

The husband who works as a driver with one of the commercial transport companies later found the saving box broken and empty in the wardrobe

A co-tenant revealed that on her return, the woman was shocked to see the husband as he was not expected home until month end due to the nature of his job

According to the eyewitness, the husband inquired to know who broke the saving box but the wife could not give him any satisfactory answer

When the husband threatened to beat the wife if she fails to tell him who broke the box, she accepted breaking the box and investing the money into MMM. She thought she could get 30 per cent of her income and replace the money before the husband could return,” the source said

The source said the husband had saved the money, over N86, 000, for their new accommodation.

Angered by her action, the husband descended on the wife in commando style, beating her blue black

All her efforts to explain to the husband that the money would yield income in the next 30 days fell on deaf ears as the husband insisted she must cough out the money before morning

The man, who locked the door of their one room apartment to prevent sympatisers from rescuing the helpless woman eventually hit the woman with breakable plate and she collapsed

The source said on realizing his wife was unconscious, he quickly ran out of the room, living the woman and their three-year-old son and fled to unknown destination

The neighbours took her to the hospital where she is currently battling for her life.

2year Old-girl Injured in School,Expelled Because Father Reported to the Police

According to rights activist, Emeka Ugwuonye, who got the complaint, Miss Doxa Etim-Esin is a KG 2 student of Remmok School, located at 57, Sarah Faboyede Street, Bucknor Estate, Transformer Bus Stop, Oke-Afa, Isolo, Lagos.

Her mom was quoted as saying: “Apart from being in the school within school hours, we also paid for after school care to be provided for her until we pick her up later in the evening.

On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, I got to the school premises at about 7.30pm and upon checking her body, I noticed her right eye was bleeding. I was alarmed! I beckoned on the small boy she was left with and all he could say was….”I dont know what happened. It’s not our fault.”

At this point, I was left with no other option but to raise an alarm. The proprietress’ daughter came out and maintained that whatever happened to my daughter was not their fault. At this point, I was so traumatised to keep calm.

I kept demanding for explanations but got none. The proprietress’ husband came out at that point to say I had no right shouting in his premises and then ordered me out of his residence.

On of the daughters also flung my child’s school bags at me insisting the accident was not their fault. I reported the issue to the nearest police station and the next day, the school management was invited.

The DPO charged the teacher and she was detained. We made it plain that our displeasure was basically the fact that a 30-month-old child had an accident where adults were around and was left without even first aid treatment for the next 5hours. .

To our greatest surprise, the school, on Monday, November 7, 2016, inserted a dismissal letter in her school bag which was to be effective the very next day.

Obasanjo Wanted a Lifetime Presidency,My Offence was that I Disagreed- Atiku

Former Vice-president Atiku Abubakar has insisted that ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo wanted to pave the way for a lifetime presidency and not just a third term in office

Atiku said this in an interview with a quarterly magazine published by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Zero Tolerance. He said, initially, it was assumed that the plan was to modify the constitution so that Obasanjo could serve a third, four-year term as President

he said, “My offence was that I disagreed with him on the amendment of the constitution to remove tenure/term limits or what was popularly called the ‘third term agenda

In fact, he sent the then Attorney-General and Prof. Jerry Gana to my office to bring the draft amendments to the constitution. After going through (them), I found out that tenure limits had been removed. In other words, he could be President for life

I then asked them that ‘if I send you to the President, can you deliver this message?’ They said yes. I said ‘go and tell him I will not support it and (I) will fight it

Atiku said due to his disagreement with Obasanjo, the ex-president decided to tag him as a corrupt person

The former vice-president said the then Chairman of the EFCC, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, accused him of corruption but later came to him to apologise

He said, “When he came to ask me for forgiveness, I said if you want me to forgive you, Nuhu, go to the same television stations where you said I was corrupt and say you now (have) realised that I am not corrupt

Then he said ‘sir, you have forgiven so many people who have offended you publicly without them going to TV stations to apologise to you’ and I said, ‘your case is different because first of all, I helped to found the EFCC

I was instrumental to your appointment, so, I believe I have contributed to your development and this is how you are paying me back. In any case, he kept on apologising and I said, ‘okay, no problem. That closed the chapter
