Loyalty is Dead – Meeting the poet, Inufin Ayomide

From a banker in the day and unleashing his mighty prowess in poetry when the inspiration comes, Inufin Ayomide is a great delight and wizard of the pen painting provocate pictures with literary words that would keep his reader visualizing their thoughts and even yearning for more reads. His recent work, Loyalty is Dead keeps garnering interesting opinions and critics from readers across social media platforms till the time of this interview.

WHO IS INUFIN AYOMIDE ?

I am Inufin Ayomide (Ayomide d’great), some people call me InuAyo d’great, I was born into the family of Inufin in the early 90s, I am the third child of my parents out of four children. I hail from Kogi state, but born and bred in Ibadan. I’m a graduate of the University of Ibadan, I studied Library and information science, I presently work with First City Monument Bank (FCMB), I am into poetry, creative writing, script writing,  music lyrics writing, partially into music, but basically into poetry.
LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT BEING A POET, HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE ONE?

Well, I feel great and alive, it gives me delight and immense pleasure, I feel whenever I pen down my thoughts, I speak to humanity, I realize reality, I blow the wind of entertainment in poetry. Being a poet is like being a human being living a fulfilled life.

WHAT ARE YOUR WORKS IDENTIFYING WITH IN THE SOCIETY?

I have written nine poetry collections, I’m presently working on my tenth and eleventh collections respectively. In identification with the society, my works capture the essence of real life situations, the way they happen, morals, sociology, norms and trends. My works attempt to shape, explore and inform the society on real life happenings as well as how people can relate to them.

YOUR MOST RECENT WORK, LOYALTY IS DEAD IDENTIFIES A WOMAN WHO BROKE THE WRITER’S LOYALTY, WORDS ON THE STREETS SAYS THE WORK IS ABOUT YOUR PERSON, HOW TRUE?

Truth be told, it has nothing to do with me. I am a writer and when the inspiration comes, I write in that direction. Yes, there are controversies that I wrote about my lover who I am in a distant relationship with. Honestly, it doesn’t have anything to do with such. I just write about reality just the way people watch Hollywood and it looks real to them, as a matter of fact, I write reality in other for dreamers to wake up and realize their dreams.

WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND LOYALTY IS DEAD?

Several cases of heartbreak  have been recorded over time according to my research, especially among middle aged youths and majority of this effect is as a result of unfaithfulness, no love from the onset, true lust etc. I only employed the theme of Distant Relationship because, it is rampant in such love affair, but in general, the work talks about the dead loyalty which is common in the western love relationship.

JUDGING FROM YOUR WORK, DON’T YOU THINK A MAN HAS NO BUSINESS IN LOVE IF HE IS BROKE?

Like I always say, Money is not everything, there are more to offer in a love affair than money, any relationship grounded in money will definitely end up in the ground when there’s no more money to keep the ground.

A PART OF YOUR POEM AGREES LOYALTY CAN BE BOUGHT, HOW WOULD YOU ARGUE AGAINST THIS?

It actually can if there is genuine sincerity from day one, if there’s True love, those are the  things that buys loyalty.

HAVE YOU ENCOUNTERED AN HEARTBREAK ?

Just break up no heart break really, because sometimes, I see it coming *smiles*.
SAY A FEW WORDS TO BROKE BOYS IN SEARCH OF TRUE LOVE.

Alright, guys, keep your hustles tight, the dreams and hope alive, never relent in searching for a true loyal girl, this time is time to decipher True love because when you make it, it will be difficult to identify one. See you guys at the top.

WHAT ARE THE MOST SIGNIFICANT LESSONS YOU REALLY WANT PEOPLE TO TAKE HOME FROM LOYALTY IS DEAD?

Loyalty is paramount in a relationship, a relationship without loyalty is like a Titanic heading to rest at the bottom of the Atlantic.
FROM THE LINES “ONCE THE SUN DON’T SHINE AND THE RAIN DON’T FALL, SHE WILL BE LEAVING BEFORE THE END OF THE SEASON”, DO WE CONCLUDE A LADY’S CLAIM OF LOVE IS MONEY DEFINED?

To some extent, ladies of nowadays are money driven than goals in a relationship, majority are all about the money and that is the reason why the line went that way.

WHERE CAN WE CHECK OUT YOUR WORKS ?

I am planning to launch a blog where my works can be widely seen, but I have a few bloggers and lovers posting and sharing my works on their platforms.

WE WOULD LOOK OUT FOR YOUR BLOG AND KEEP READERS UPDATED.

I Want To Be A Legend And Inspire Other Future Stars- Shoneye Olamilekan

Fast rising actor and producer, Shoneye Olamilekan (Show) talks family, career and long term aspirations with Ayo Adams. Read more below:

WHO IS SHOW?

My name is Shoneye Olamilekan, most people call me (Show). I am the first child in a family of five and my parents hail from Ogun  state (Abeokuta). I  am an HND holder in computer science  from the Lagos state Polytechnic.
FROM COMPUTER SCIENCE TO MOVIE MAKING, HOW DID YOU START?

In life they say opportunity comes with preparation, I was just fortunate to be at the right place at the right time. So I was around where a shoot was going on, they were short of a cast, the director saw and approached me if I could help them out. Quickly, I obliged because it was what I wanted. After the shoot, I was commended by the casts and crew on the set. This gave me more courage to chase my dream fully which today, I am glad I did. However, that is one moment I would never forget because it changed my life forever.
WHEN YOUR PARENTS HEARD THEIR COMPUTER SCIENTIST HAS GONE INTO MOVIE MAKING,WHAT WAS THEIR REACTION?

At first it was tough, it was a tough decision for me too, but I knew I wanted more for myself than being an office person, same job description and routines for many years after graduation. So after working in a company for five years, I resigned to chase my dreams and it took a lot to  convince my parents because I needed to be the man i had always wanted to become and with God everything got clearer and i got their blessings.
YOUR DEBUT MOVIE?

Autism produced by Moji Smith. It was a great start for me being part of the project.
TELL US ABOUT THE MOVIES YOU HAVE PRODUCED?

I am the producer of Aiyelomo, Playboys, Ultimatum, Olamiotan and Owo. Trust me we have big things coming. Though Aiyelomo is out on dvd but Playboys and Ultimatum is out on youtube for viewing pleasure via nollywoodmoviebox. Meanwhile, Olamiotan and Owo are the next big thing to watch out for.

HOW ARE THE FEEDBACKS ON THE RELEASED PROJECTS?

The feebacks have been very postive in every aspect and that has pushed me to do and to strive for more. Trust me the sky is just the beginning.
WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT NEXT?

Something massive and different is coming very soon. But before then, we have Olamiotan and Owo (Money) hitting the screen soonest.
WHAT IS YOUR PERCEPTION ABOUT AWARDS?

Awards have been causing a whole lot of controversies in the industry as we all know. My take however is that it shouldnt be based on relationship or sentiments, I strongly believe that nominations should be based on how much work has been put and contributions from potential nominees. I believe the organisers of the award can do better in that area.
WHO DO YOU LOOK UP TO IN THE INDUSTRY?

I look up to God and endow respect to everyone in the industry. I adore everyone’s work.

DO YOU HAVE ANY CRUSH IN THE INDUSTRY?

Of course, I do have a crush in the industry but that is left to me, I won’t let the cat out of the bag.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR MOST CHALLENGING MOMENT ON THE FIELD?

It was a culture job, I was asked to speak a language which I wasn’t familiar with. It gave me a lot of stress because it wasn’t my style but as an actor you should be able to interprete any role given to you by the director and in the end, life was bliss.

WHAT IS YOUR SELLING POINT?

(SMILING) Let my fans decide that

WHAT ARE YOUR LONG TERM ASPIRATIONS IN THIS JOB?

I want to be a legend and inspire other future stars just like our fathers in the game. Make history and be a source of inspiration for others to do more.

YOUR WORDS TO ASPIRING MOVIE MAKERS

Believe in yourself, work hard, stay strong, respect everybody, fear no one and give God the praise and in the end, every dreams would come true.
