The art of poetry is always an interesting activity as it avails one the benefits of spicing through emotions, as a fallout of experience or/and untamed imaginations. THINKING TANK is a piece by Bello idris, that addresses his experience and deep feeling for the precarious situation of things in his society.

Deeply the elders think.

So, we all should stay worried.

Gradually, common sense sinks,

Our legacy- dead, long buried.

We all should stay worried,

If we don’t, who will?

Afterall it’s our cross,

Collectively we bear the loss.

Let Musa Interrogate Yinka,

Let Adakole engage Emeka,

It’s all about confusions,

We live in illusions.

When the elders sigh,

It shows the problems are high;

Don’t dare the elders eyes,

For experience there lies.

Solemnly, head goes low,

Progress speeds like “go slow”;

We all should be flogged,

For we gave ourselves to be robbed.

Now that we take more selfie,

Than we think groupie,

We all need to be worried,

For we are just being selfish.

It’s high time we thought,

We must set forth.

Our fathers had fought,

We only need to comport.

Faces as Ejika Film Academy flags off in lagos

It was indeed a glorious evening for the Nigerian creative community as a baby was safely delivered. It was the unveiling of Ejika Film Academy. This initiative according to its founders is targeted at teaching younger ones the trade of film making at both theoretical and practical levels. In his remark, pa kola Olaiya, a veteran Thespian of age and experience admonished the pioneer students of the academy to remain focused and committed with their objectives.

While Ambassador Saheed Balogun hammered on humility and sticking to ambition, Mr.  Niyi Johnson implored the students to be of good characters by being punctual, humble and innovative. Mr. Wale Ilebiyi, an ace thespian, in his speech advocated that, the students should remain steadfast and pay attention to details in their journey of becoming an icon in the industry. Drawing inspiration from his experience with Late Hubert Ogunde’s Alarinjo Theatre, Mr. Ilebiyi further States that, the journey to stardom requires a lot of sacrifice through perseverance and discipline.

The CEO, Kenny George wasn’t at the unveiling as she is miles away from the country for business, yet her marks were felt as the other team members stood gallantly to make the event historical.

In the same bid, the film academy unveiling was also incorporated into the birthday dinner of the CEO, Kenny George. Mr. Taiwo Ibikunle whose birthday it also was yesterday  walked in quite late, but was also celebrated at the launching dinner.

This went down in a classic way as Seyi Edun (Shai Eja Nla) played a key role in hosting guests at Zen garden, ikeja. Other notable guests at the August event are Funke etti, Bidemi kosoko, Seun Olaiya, Mr. Ilebiyi, Mr. Bello idris of EMIRALTY  and others.
